Vacation's where I want to be

Summer is all about vacation! Vacation is always a great thing. The problem with vacation is that most people these days stay home for vacation because they cannot afford to go away. Budgeting is one way to save money, yet there are other things families can look for when looking to save on a vacation.

One of the main things to look for is location. No one needs to go out of the country for a vacation. There are some brilliant places here in the U.S. that can be cheap and can still be enjoyable. Georgia is a great example of this. The old fashion town of Savannah, Georgia envelops the majestic southern feel while supplying cheap hotels and accommodations. The culture and dining are known for their southern cuisine.

Another state that can be a great vacation spot is Nashville. This city is the heart of Tennessee. Nashville has been the product of great artists and entertainers. Their hotel prices are the lowest hotel prices in the South. The city is filled with trendy boutiques and hipster bars. This is a great vacation spot for all the music lovers out there. These two cities are just a few of the vacation spots that are not only affordable, but they are fun!

  2. Taylor, I'm with you! I've been a single Mom of three sons for sometime. Over the years I have learned how to get our family away for fun -- on a budget. We have visited many of the cities and towns in Georgia (Savannah included), but not so much in Tennessee. Perhaps Memphis or Nashville should be on our list for this summer? LOL.

  3. I was just in Savannah about a week ago and it is a great place. The ride from Charlotte is about as boring as anything could possibly be but once you hit the Historical district it is worth it. #1 thing to do as soon as you get there is to go to the visitor center and hop on a trolley.

  4. Taylor, traveling is such a valuable way to learn about other cultures and expand one's knowledge and diversity. Traveling abroad can be amazing but traveling within the country cab be equally as amazing! There is so much to see and do throughout the states. I have had the pleasure of traveling to both Savannah and Nashville. They are each great cities with lots to see and do. But I have to say, I am a little more partial to Music City!

  5. Ah, you are blessed, Taylor! To have seen and done the things you have seen and done are awesome. But I think what I picked up the most is your appreciation of travel and your gratefulness of heart. Yes, I am ready to pack my suitcase!

  6. Ah, vacations! I have also been to both Savannah and Nashville and agree that there are plenty of vacation spots in the United States that are affordable. You can also find great deals on vacations online - we are going to New Orleans this summer and found a great deal using Expedia.

  7. I agree that there are great places to vacation that are close by. I was actually in Savannah this past weekend and it was very beautiful. It was my second time going, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to go on a weekend getaway that is driving distance. Nashville is beautiful as well and has great personality and music culture.

  8. I totally agree that vacations don't have to be expensive trips to a foreign beach! I love visiting small towns and unique areas for trips; they're great ways to get away and explore gems in the United States. My family never goes out of the country for vacations (aside from Canada a long time ago!), so we really enjoy visiting a variety of states to shop and see historic sites. Great blog!
